John Paul II graduate Jose Trevino earned a spot with the Cincinnati Reds at catcher, Sinton graduate and pitcher Anthony Banda made the Opening Day roster with the Minnesota Twins, and Ray infield product Nick Loftin was named to the Opening Day roster for the Kansas City Royals after competing for a utility role during spring training.
Trevino hit .238 with four home runs and 22 RBIs during the 2025 season, Banda posted a 3.18 ERA with 61 strikeouts in 48 appearances for the 2025 World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, and Loftin batted .208 with four home runs and 20 RBIs in limited action in 2025.
Brewers left-handed pitcher and Calallen graduate Rob Zastryzny will begin the 2026 season on the injured list. The Hooks announced Wednesday that Gregory-Portland graduate Walker Janek made the club's opening day roster.
Other Coastal Bend products will likely be on 2026 minor league rosters, which have not been announced yet.
The MLB season begins Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
