Iran is claiming responsibility for attacking American military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as hitting spots in Oman and Jordan on Monday.

The attack was in response to a fresh round of strikes from the United States on Sunday night. CENTCOM said the U.S. strikes against Iran were done “to continue degrading their ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz.”

After Iran’s attack on Bahrain, the country’s military has accused Tehran of targeting civilians with “heinous attacks with missiles and drones.”

Here’s the latest on the Iran war on Monday:

Israeli fire reported in southern Lebanon

Artillery fire from Iran is underway between the southern Lebanese towns of Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit, the National News Agency reports, per Al Jazeera .

Israel has continued its attacks despite a reported ceasefire and ongoing talks between Lebanon and Israel, who are scheduled to meet next Tuesday in Rome.

Bahrain army accuses Iran of targeting civilians in latest attacks

Bahrain’s military has accused Iran of targeting civilians with its latest attacks on the country, after Tehran said it had struck U.S. military facilities and infrastructure in the country hours earlier.

“Iran continues its systematic hostile approach through its heinous attacks with missiles and drones that target civilians in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” the general command of Bahrain’s military said, per The Guardian , adding that air defences “intercepted and destroyed a number of Iranian aerial attacks.”

Iran attacks American military facilities after U.S. strikes

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said it attacked American military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait, destroying radar systems in Oman and hitting fuel tanks and ammunition depots in Jordan in retaliation for fresh strikes from the U.S., The Guardian reported.

Jordan said on Monday morning that it had intercepted and downed four missiles from Iran. Kuwait’s military said it had intercepted “hostile aerial targets” in its airspace.

Overnight, the U.S. attacked “dozens” of Iranian sites, including air defence systems, radar sites, small boats, and missile and drone equipment.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the U.S. Central Command said. “Iran does not control it.”4

However, the Revolutionary Guards rejected the American statement, stating the Strait “is our territory” and won’t let Washington’s “illegal interference in it.”

U.S. launches second night of attacks on Iran

The United States launched an hourslong wave of strikes against Iran on Sunday night, CNN reported.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it hit dozens of Iranian military targets in its latest strikes.

CENTCOM said the strikes occurred at 5 p.m. on Sunday “to continue degrading their ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz.” They said the order was given by U.S. President Donald Trump.

A security guard was killed and four others were wounded after a projectile hit a water pumping station in Mahshahr County in southwestern Iran, state media IRNA reported.
