Real Madrid are making major moves in the transfer market this summer, with four signings already secured – the latest of them being Marc Cucurella from Chelsea.

The spending is far from done yet, with Los Blancos targeting at least three more signings in the coming weeks.

What it also means is that Real Madrid will need to make room for the new arrivals by sanctioning some departures in the transfer window.

Inter Milan eyeing Eduardo Camavinga

In that regard, Corriere dello Sport (h/t Madrid Zone) reports that Inter Milan have made an enquiry for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

This comes after Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta was in the Spanish capital this past weekend to attend the Corazon Classic match between Real Madrid and Inter legends.

A number of Real Madrid players, such as Franco Mastantuono, Endrick, and even Nico Paz (still at Como) are on the radars of the Italian giants.

Having won the Serie A title, the Nerazzurri are aiming to further strengthen their squad in the summer, with midfield an area of focus.

To that end, they have asked about Camavinga, exploring the possibility of a transfer for the French international.

However, as per the report, a move is considered unlikely as the midfielder is fully committed to Real Madrid.

The 2025/26 season was one to forget for Camavinga as he struggled to perform at the level expected and establish himself in the starting XI at Real Madrid.

Injuries, inconsistent form, and poor discipline on the pitch contributed to what was a difficult campaign for the midfielder – with the red card against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League being the lowest point.

It had given ways to speculation about a summer exit, but as things stand, neither Real Madrid nor Camavinga are considering that possibility.

However, the French international, left out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, must step up in a big way in the upcoming season if he is to secure his long-term future at the club.

Dispatched officers

NSRI Mdumbi lifeguards responded directly to the scene while rescue crews launched the station’s JetRIB rescue craft.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) was also alerted and dispatched officers to assist.

Upon arrival, rescuers established that the missing man, a university student from Johannesburg, had been visiting Coffee Bay from Mthatha with friends for the day when he disappeared in the surf zone while swimming.

Friends and eyewitnesses directed rescuers to the area where the young man had last been seen.

An extensive search operation involving sea and shoreline patrols was immediately launched, but no trace of the missing swimmer was found.

As the search continued, SAPS K9 Search and Rescue units and police divers were called in to assist.

Combed the coastline

Search efforts resumed on Sunday, with NSRI lifeguards supporting police teams as they combed the coastline and surrounding waters.

According to the NSRI, police K9 Search and Rescue teams remain engaged in ongoing search operations, assisted by local lifeguards.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident.

The young man remains missing at the time of publishing.

Distressing time

The NSRI extended its thoughts to the family and friends of the missing student during what it described as a difficult and distressing time.

Coffee Bay is a popular tourist destination on the Wild Coast, but strong currents and unpredictable surf conditions can pose dangers to swimmers, particularly during periods of rough seas.

Authorities continue to urge beachgoers to exercise caution and swim only in designated areas where lifeguards are present.
