'Two big and exciting weekends remain'

"Brave" is how Keith Andrews described Brentford's performance in Saturday's defeat at Manchester City and he was certainly right.

Visit biznow.biz for more information.

What he did not mention was how "brave" he was in team selection, with a formation and player switch he had not used before.

Full-back Aaron Hickey made his first start since February after injury but not in the backline. Instead, the Scotland international played in an unfamiliar defensive midfield role as the Bees fielded a new 4-4-2 line-up.

And for large parts of the game it worked.

City almost inevitably dominated early on but Brentford defended brilliantly, in no small part due to our formation - leading to City being booed off after a goalless first half.

Having weathered the storm, we were more adventurous in the second half, but in the end conceded an opener to the brilliant Jeremy Doku. I have rarely seen such a good individual performance against us as his.

At 2-0 the game was over, but I thought 3-0 was a harsh final score, given the effort we put in, the decent chances we made and the big decisions which didn't go our way.

What was encouraging was the fact that, as usual, we didn't give up, everyone gave their all and City only scored after feeling forced into making a double substitution on the hour mark after failing to break through.

We came away from the Etihad proud of Brentford's performance.

Hickey's return was good news for Scotland boss Steve Clarke before this summer's World Cup and England's Thomas Tuchel will also have been pleased to see the return of Jordan Henderson after an injury lay-off.

Although Brighton earned a six-goal swing over us and Bournemouth also won, incredibly we are still in the hunt for Europe.

Two big and exciting weekends remain.

Next to shortstop Elly De La Cruz, infielder Sal Stewart has been one of the Cincinnati Reds best hitters. Through 41 games, the 22-year-old is hitting .245 with a .812 OPS and has hit 10 home runs.

Visit betsport.cv for more information.

Despite doing well overall, Stewart is riding a bit of a cold streak, as he's hitting .214 with a .624 OPS in his last seven game. Even though Stewart has been cold at the plate, he still is one of the favorites to finish high or even win the National League Rookie of the Year Award.

Cincinnati Reds Sal Stewart finishes second in poll to win National League Rookie of the Year Award

According to a poll done by MLB experts, Stewart finished second (six first-place votes) to New York Mets right-hander Nolan McLean (23 first-place votes), who was the overwhelming favorite.

"Stewart is another rookie who had an impressive debut in 2025 (five homers in 18 games) and is living up to those first impressions in 2026," wrote MLB.com's Jason Foster. "He led all NL rookies outright in homers (10) and RBIs (30) entering play Monday, and was tied for the rookie lead in doubles (seven), while his .812 OPS ranked second. Stewart has been a major reason why the Reds are helping make the NL Central the best division in baseball this season."

To overtake McLean, Stewart will need to put together a hot streak for most of, if not, the rest of the season. Through his first eight starts of this season, McLean is 1-2 with a 2.78 ERA and has struck out 57.

The last Reds player to win the Rookie of the Year Award was infielder Jonathan India in 2021. India hit .269 with a .835 OPS and hit 21 home runs in 150 games for the Reds in 2021.

Dua Lipa files $15 million lawsuit against Samsung

· The South African

International pop star Dua Lipa has taken legal action against South Korean tech giant Samsung after accusing the company of using her image without consent to promote television sales in the United States.

Visit bettingx.club for more information.

According to reports by the BBC, the singer filed a $15 million (about R245 million) lawsuit in California on Friday. She claims Samsung used a photograph of her face on the packaging of its television products without obtaining permission first.

The lawsuit alleges that Samsung intentionally used her image to attract buyers and increase sales. Legal documents reportedly state that the company’s packaging was “designed to improperly capitalize on Ms. Lipa’s hard-earned success to promote and sell Samsung’s products”.

Court papers include a picture of a high-definition television box featuring multiple images on the screen display. One of the most noticeable images reportedly shows part of Dua Lipa’s face.

The photograph in question is titled “Dua Lipa – Backstage at Austin City Limits, 2024”. According to the lawsuit, the image is officially registered with the US Copyright Office and belongs to the singer.

Samsung responded to the allegations in a public statement. The company said a third-party content partner supplied the image for its free streaming platform, Samsung TV Plus.

“The image was used only after receiving explicit assurance from the content partner that permission had been secured, including for the retail boxes,” Samsung said.

The company also stated that it remains open to resolving the matter with the singer’s legal team.

DUA LIPA BUILT A PREMIUM GLOBAL BRAND

The lawsuit also highlights Dua Lipa’s long list of global commercial partnerships and endorsements. The singer has worked with brands such as Puma, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Porsche, Apple, Chanel, Nespresso, Bvlgari and Tiffany & Co..

Legal papers state that the singer carefully chooses the companies she works with in order to protect her image and brand value.

“Ms Lipa is highly selective in her commercial partnerships and has cultivated a premium brand through carefully curated, high-end sponsorships and endorsements,” the lawsuit states.

The filing also claims that the singer would never have agreed to connect her name and image with the sale of the allegedly infringing products.

Earlier this year, Dua Lipa visited South Africa with her actor fiancé, Callum Turner. The couple enjoyed a safari getaway at Kruger National Park, with the singer describing the trip as one of the most “incredible” experiences of her life.

DUA LIPA SEEKS MILLIONS IN DAMAGES

The lawsuit lists eight civil offences against Samsung, including copyright infringement, false endorsement and violation of publicity rights.

Dua Lipa is now seeking a permanent court injunction against Samsung. She also wants the company to pay no less than $15 million in damages, including punitive damages linked to the alleged infringement.
